COP 3 - Men's Version 1

The first version I put together for the men's designs included the American diner style typeface. I was quite keen on this idea and felt that the bold and strong nature of the typography represented masculinity really well.

I was also quite happy with how the orange on the dark grey background looked - it represented a masculine feel without being too stereotypical and using blue colours.

I added some small elements onto the front of the sleeve

1) 'no touch, no stir, no fuss' - I came across something similar to this during my research and really liked the idea of including this within my designs. Research suggests that men generally aren't as keen to spend lots of time in the kitchen and stereo-typically, women are the 'cookers' of the house. I felt this would be appealing to men because it demonstrates the ease of the ready meal - they can just simply put it in the microwave and don't have to do anything with it until it's cooked - which is appealing to them!

2) 7 mins - again, including the cooking time on front of the packaging highlights how quick and easy the meal is to cook - something men find appealing as it involves less time preparing and being in the kitchen.

The back of the packaging (upside down as this is how it is on the net) included all the basic information needed.

I chose to have the ingredients as the main focus of the back, with the nutritional data smaller at the side. I made this decision because after my research I feel that men are 'less bothered' about nutritional data and what they are going to gain nutritionally from a meal than women are.

I included other basic information such as unsatisfactory help and recycling information - just basic things that would be normally featured on the back of a ready meal.

I kept decoration to a minimum and simply had the ingredients outlined using the pen tool - (links with lines underneath text on front of sleeve)
